MAC Beauty Powder - Oh So Fair

How are you dolls? Enjoying this wonderful? It's been around 74F last couple of days and breezy. I love this time of the year! weather
So this is a quick review for MAC Beauty Powder "Oh So Fair" from Venomous Villains collection.  I tested it for a couple of days in different light and even wore it to the gym to see how long the color will stay on my skin while I get hot and sweaty lol.  So here it goes. "Oh So Fair" is one of the most gorgeous shades of beauty powders that MAC ever came up with. It's so soft and gentle and texture is great. I would say it's more of a very soft pink with a hue of peach to it. I wore it as a soft blush (I am NC 25-30) and it showed up beautifully. Some beauty powders are almost invisible on my skin (Dam Edna, Hello Kitty collections) but this one seems to have more pigment. So if you girls are looking for soft daywear blush and you are more fair or medium skin tone - give this one a test. It's going to be on the counters Sept. 30th and I think that it will sell out in most locations very quick.
With that being said, I think VV collection is starting grow on me more and more. I am still not really into the packaging and honestly mineralized shadows are nearly identical to my shadows from last year's collection "Style Black", but overall I see some interesting colors and can't wait to try "Magic" powder that is mostly water. Well I take it back, I did try it a few years ago... Raising your brow? Truth to be told that powder is same (or nearly the same) product that was sold under MAC's sister brand Prescriptives. But anyhow, I liked it back then, I am sure to love it now.

MAC Venomous Villains - My Dark Magic Mineralized Eyeshadow

I am a big fan of MAC Mineralized line and these shadows are up my alley. I love the depth of these colors, love the sparkles and the fact that with just little bit of Fix+ these  shadows turn into awesome eyeliners. If you feeling like rocking some deep fun smokey eyes - go for it! "My Dark Magic" is a great hue of purple and blueish tones with some drama and for long staying power please don't forget to use eyeshadow base. I swatched color without base and I can see the difference in application, and in not a good way. For something so chunky and glittery you have to have your primer.

Mascara gone bad

OK, I think it's time for my first negative review of a makeup product. I have to say, that I am not that picky when it comes to mascara. All it has to do is give me some nice volume and make my short lashes appear slightly longer. At this point I have about 6-7 mascaras that I am trying and sadly I am very disappointed with Maybelline Volum' Express the Falsies Washable Mascara.
First of all I have a problem with a brush. Sides of it look pretty good but front part is kinda flat and it is totally doing weird things to my lashes, like depositing too much of mascara on certain areas. Second - is the formula itself. Super clumpy! I mean my lashes looked like a big mess! I am a makeup artist (keep in mind) and I can truly say this is not a "false lashes" effect.
Despite my disappointment, I will try to use it a few more times, maybe our relationship will turn in the right direction but I doubt it. Too bad, because actually I used to love some of their mascaras. What about you? Do you have any mascaras that just not working for you?

MAC Viva Glam Lipglass Cyndi

MAC's Viva Glam lipglosses are not out yet, but I already have one to share with you. This one is by Cydni Lauper and I happened to  really like this shade. What a gorgeous red! It's not too bright with a wonderful salmon/coral undertone to it and a little bit of pink pearl. Usually I am not too big on reds, I feel like it's a statement that needs to be supported by the whole outfit, but Viva Glam Cyndi is a little more relaxed red and I think that you can wear it during a day, running around or for business meetings.
New Viva Glam glosses Cyndi and Lady GaGa will be on the counters on Sept.2 so please stop by and pick up your shade and remember that all the money from Viva Glam will go to MAC Aids Fund to support people who are affected by AIDS and HIV.

MAC Dare to Wear Lipgloss - So Bad

I rocked this bold color lipgloss with my bright red/black eyes. Texture of this lip glosses is a little bit different from MAC glosses. It's more tacky but my hair doesn't stick to it as much as with MAC's lipglass. Crazy pigmented with tons of sparkles and great staying power. My Dare to wear gloss lasted through 4 hours of work and even lunch. But here comes the down side, I don't feel like it's moisturizing enough. I actually had to put a little VS clear gloss over it for more cushion (on last photo). Color is very orangie-coral with gold and pink shimmer. It's not your everyday gloss but I like it alot for days when I feel little daring and want to create bold makeup look. I am not sure if I want to pick up the rest of the colors, while they are available though. I feel like I would just have it as an eye candy and not wear them too often. What do you think? Have you tried MAC Dare to Wear collection?

Chanel "Peach Bikini" (257)

Loving this new shade from Chanel called Peach Bikini. Very creamy, milky pink shade with a little bit of champagne undertones and trace of shimmer. It does settle in lines just a little bit, but it's pretty much invisible from the distance. Very fun shade for summer, great texture and lovely over your fav. nude lipstick.

Chanel "Enigma"

Okay dolls, I finally got my hand on the already famous "Enigma" Chanel palette and I think I found my new favorite.
All 4 shades are just great for smoky-eye lovers. Beautiful shimmery  light pink is great for highlight, medium-tone brown with an olive hue is perfect for all over or crease. But my favorites are the steel-chocolate gray and purply deep-purple shades. Love-love-love them. I can create the perfect smokey eye that is suitable for work or play. Texture is incredible, this is actually one of the best that I've ever tried, super silky and smooth.  Blends very easy and staying power is superb.
If you loving dramatic, sexy "bedroom" eyes, please do stop by your local Chanel counter and test this palette out before it's sold out. You'll be glad you did.

Chanel Glossimer "Paillettes"

Ok, so I think I have a problem. Lipgloss problem that is. I have like tons of lipglosses and some mornings I am literally lost in all my precious tubes, I just can't make up my mind about which formula and shade I should go for today :-) So here's what was my lipgloss of choice for today - Chanel Glossimer in Paillettes.
Now Chanel has always "wowed" me in their lipgloss department. This one is happens to be one of my favorite shades ever! Great texture, non-sticky, without any noticeable scent and with great staying power. Oh yeah, and the shade alone is just gorgeous. Ultra-glittery soft pink, that is cute enough for going out and soft enough for day at work. I am almost done with my tube and I will definitely repurchase.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick - Nectar

Good morning beauties!
Yesterday I was playing with my new Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Nectar. If you haven't tried famous Bobbi's shimmer bricks, trust me, you are missing out on some great stuff. I purchased my Nectar @ Strawberrynet for only $19 !!! (reg.price $38) and I am loving it! First of all this is a highlighter than gives you a beautiful soft coral glow without looking chunky or too frosted. Gorgeous shade, more like coral with a little peach and golden glow. It looks beautiful on top of your favorite warm tone blush or you can add it on your lids and even lips. Texture is very soft and builds on your brush and skin very quickly. The only complaint I have is the actual packaging itself, as much as I love design of it, it does collect fingerprints very easily, so I have to clean the case pretty often. Other than that I think this is must have in any makeup collection.

Shiseido The Makeup Concealer Stick

After 2 weeks that I just spent in Russia I really can use some good concealer to cover up my "lovely" dark circles from late night's and partying hard with my friends. If you are looking for a full coverage concealer, look into Shiseido. This little guy is super powerful when it comes to covering dark circles, blemishes and brown spots. The formula is super thick but yet light on your skin, not greasy at all. It's creamy, non-drying and goes on super smooth. I've been using it under my eyes with a little sheer powder to set, blends very easy and doesn't cake.   I actually think that Shiseido stick concealer is almost identical to the famous  Cle De Peau stick concealer. Downside is the fact that only 3 shades are available with no options for darker skin tones. Overall 9/10

Armani Lasting Silk UV Foundation SPF20

After hearing famous makeup artist raving about this foundation I decided to give it a try. I've been using shade 5.5  for a couple of weeks now and here's what I think.
It's mostly sheer to medium coverage foundation and if you need more of a matte finish and don't have  major spots or blemishes - you will love it. This product is amazing. Texture is more "water-like" Blends evenly, feels light on your skin, lets it breath but yet does a great job evening out skin tone and keeping you matte and shine free for a very long time. It does set quickly so you have to blend fast, looks absolutely natural and let's not forget about SPF 20.  Downsides: Super pricey, I think I paid around $60 which is a lot for a bottle of foundation. People with dry skin might want to use moisturizer under it for extra cushion.

HD Blush by Make Up For Ever

Ok dolls, I know I am little late on this review, but I guess better late then never. So here we go.
Make Up For Ever never fails to amaze me. Great makeup, outstanding colors and formulas. HD Microfinish Blush is another hit for me. First of all, notice all shades, aren't they just great? You have your neutrals and fun colors. It doesn't matter if you are a light skin blond or a chocolate beauty - there is a shade for you. Then the texture is just great, it looks creamy but dries down to a matte finish pretty quick and never feels greasy. Staying power is pretty impressive and my skin didn't look oily at all, like with some creamy blushes. Application can be tricky, the pump gives a little too much product, but once you figure it out it's pretty easy from there. I use MAC brush #188 for application and so far my favorite shades are #4 (very bubblegum pink like, so cute) #13 (similar to 4 but not as bright) and #14 (cutest neutral peach)

Blushes are available in Sephora and a price tag is $25

Rosebud Salve

Happy Friday girls!  Do you have any plans for this weekend? So today I want to share with you my favorite lip balm ever! I am pretty sure ya'll heard about it already, it's famous Rosebud Salve. I have it in original formula and strawberry edition. This great product has been around since 1895 and continues to be "a must." Not only is it a great product for your chapped lips, it also works wonders as a moisturizer for your dry elbows, lipstick base, eyeshadow base and highlighter. Texture is very pleasant, not sticky at all, smells delicious and lasts on your lips for a very long time. Give it a try and I am sure it will become your favorite product as well.

Have a wonderful weekend dolls and I'll talk to you on Monday

Anna Sui Eye Colors

Yesterday we went to a Korean shopping mall and I got myself a new eye color palette by Anna Sui. I've always had a soft spot for her makeup, packaging and fun colors. For some reason her makeup line is not as known in America as it is in Asia. Here in Korea, Anna Sui is huge and considered to be a luxurious but fun brand. My new palette is extremely wearable, lots of frost yet colors look more satin on my eyes.
